Added: The full text of the Tourism Service Regulations (Approved Tourist Business), 5772-2011. These regulations regulate receipt of approval that a business establishment has been found by the Ministry of Tourism to be eligible to provide services or sell goods to tourists (Laws and Regulations) .

Added:  Judgment of the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court rejecting a claim for receipt of insurance benefits under a foreign travel insurance policy. The judgment held that the policy does not cover preterm labor risks and that these terms were explained to the insured and there was no flaw in the signing of the insurance contract. The court also found no flaw that the party in contact with the insured was not an insurance agent (Overseas Travel Insurance - Judgments) .

 Added: Full English text of the Aviation Services Law (Compensation and Assistance due to Cancellation of Flight or Change in Terms), 5772-2012.  This law, which was published on May 29, 2012 and went into effect on August 16, 2012, makes it mandatory to give benefits to a passenger whose flight was cancelled or delayed; it also requires travel agents to help passengers to exercise their rights. The law provides that the court may order an airline, which knowingly acted contrary to the statutory provisions, to pay damages of up to NIS 10,000. The period of prescription for exercising rights under the new law is four years (Aviation) .

Amended version of the Law of Prohibition of Discrimination in Products and Services and in Entry to Entertainment Establishments and Public Facilities, 5761-2002. Under the amendment enacted in April 2011, it shall be deemed discrimination to withhold the supply of a product or a public service or prevent entry to a public establishment of someone included in the groups defined by law, if they were not withheld under the same circumstances for another group (Laws and Regulations).

The passenger contended that El Al is liable for compensating her for the loss of her eye glasses on the plane during a flight. The court held that liability for the eye glasses rests with the passenger, and that according to the appropriation of cause principle prescribed in section 24 of the Warsaw Convention, El Al cannot be sued, except for the causes prescribed in the Warsaw Convention (Aviation - Judgments Appropriation of Cause).

Justice Rahamim Cohen) concerning lack of privity between an Israeli car rental company through which a car rental transaction in Germany was entered into and an Israeli lessee.   The court held that there is privity of contract between the car rental company and the Israeli lessee, and that the Israeli company was obligated to disclose to the plaintiffs that there was no spare tire in the car they rented. Added: Judgment of the Magistrates Court in the Krayot of March 1, 2006 (before Hon. Justice Ayelet Dagan) concerning the duty of a travel agent and supplier of vacation packages to special-needs passengers (handicapped in wheelchairs). It was held that in the specific case of a passenger with mobility difficulties, the supplier has a "minimum duty of care to verify (even by phone) that the hotel is geared to accommodate the plaintiff with her specific handicap and that all the facilities needed function. This duty is easy to carry out and no unreasonable costs are involved. This duty may stem from various legal sources, including the duty of care in a tort of negligence, a contractual duty to exercise rights in good faith, etc." (Miscellaneous Handicapped; Hotels Miscellaneous Matters Handicapped) .

The Entrance into Israel Law was updated, according to The Entrance into Israel Law (amendment No.13), 2004. The amended law enables granting of a "Foreign Employee" entry permit for a period exceeding 5 years (in special cases), for terms of one year at a time; and enables granting an entry permit to a "Foreign Employee" occupied in nursing for unlimited periods of one year at a time, exceeding the initial 5 years term (under several conditions) (Entry into Israel).

The Court refused to grant an interim Injunction to prevent operating a web site for hotel reservations, ruling that: "...In the Internet era, symbolizing openness and ability of any human being to surf to any site and get what he desires, all over the globe, that turned to a "global village",  injunctions in this field should be limited". Added a few Judgments on the liability of the actual passenger for payment for travel services that were reserved for him by a third party,  among them Judgment of the Magistrates Court in Kiryat Gat from 1999 in the matter of a company that made a reservation for its employees. The travel agency that made the reservation, was fined by the airline for the passengers refusal to board the plane. The travel agency sued the company for indemnification and lost the case (miscellaneous).

Sentence of the Magistrate's Court in Ramla dated September 18, 2003, in the case of an airline passenger, who slapped an eight year old child, for closing the child's table, thus moving the passenger's seat.

Added Judgment of the Magistrate's Court in Akko (Acre) dismissing a claim for compensation for bodily injury of a visitor in the Goren National Park, while stepping back to take a photograph. The Court ruled that the plaintiff was aware to the natural hazards existing while walking on stones, and that he voluntarily chose to walk back without looking. The case against the National Parks Authority was  dismissed on the grounds of lack of  liability (tourism sites - National Parks).
